Ear Exam

At Ear Wax Extraction, we offer a professional ear wax extraction service using specialised equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

Within the ear canal, cerumen, commonly known as ear wax, is produced. This is a normal and naturally occurring process which moisturises and guards the ear from water, dust, irritation and insects. Ordinarily, ear wax is expelled from the ear canal through natural chewing motion and other jaw movements.

When ear wax build up in the ear canal reaches abnormal levels, it can often lead to difficulty in hearing, discomfort, irritation and can even cause an infection.

This can be for number of reasons which include excess ear wax production, age of the individual, use of ear buds that push and compact ear wax into the ear canal, users of hearing aids.

The overall experience of blocked ears can be very frustrating and painful and here at Ear Wax Extraction, we aim to help safely clear these symptoms in comfort of our clinic or your home.

Before your arrival, you will be required to complete a questionnaire about you, your general health and your current ear symptoms.

If your symptoms appear severe, we may request that you complete a course of ear wax softening agent (eg Earol or similar medical grade olive oil that you can purchase from any local pharmacy) for 5 days prior to the scheduled appointment.

On arrival, we will review the questionnaire together and a tailored treatment plan will be discussed which will be followed to safely remove the impacted ear wax through micro-suction, water irrigation or manual process.
